As members of the Pamplin Leadership Development Team, our mission is to develop leaders in Virginia Tech and local communities. By planning and executing our annual Student Leadership Conference and workshops with guest speakers, company sponsors, the Pamplin Faculty, and student members of the team, we are able to provide students with the resources they need to gain core skills that they can utilize to pursue a career within their chosen field of study.

Our Vision

We strive to increase student involvement in the Pamplin community; curate a diverse team with members who are passionate, motivated, and invested in developing their own leadership abilities; continue to improve the conference and workshops to be the most effective in developing students’ leadership skills.
What is PLDT?
The Pamplin Leadership Development Team (PLDT) is comprised of 26 student leaders and our faculty advisor Professor Ron Poff. PLDT works year-round to develop and coordinate the annual Pamplin Student Leadership Conference. We bring together driven students with industry leaders for an interactive, inspiring, and educational conference.
Our team is dedicated to leadership education and development within our campus, communities, and team, which is why we seek to grow our leadership, interpersonal, and cross-functional skills. In addition to the Pamplin Student Leadership Conference, PLDT holds workshops open to all students on career-related topics and reaches out to local high schools with activities about leadership, resume development, and attending college.
